Putting Community First

More homes, stronger communities

People should have a realistic opportunity to own a home, put down roots and build a future in the community they call home. That means building more homes, bringing vacant properties back into use and making sure new development creates places where people can live, work and thrive.

Growth that creates opportunity

A growing economy creates the opportunity for people to build better lives. I believe in supporting enterprise, innovation and local businesses, while keeping taxes and regulation proportionate and making sure growth benefits communities as well as the wider economy.

Infrastructure that keeps pace

Growth only works when the infrastructure is there to support it. Housing, transport, water, schools, parks and community facilities need to be planned together, with investment keeping pace with population and economic growth.

Government that delivers

Public service should be practical and accountable. I believe decisions should be made as close as possible to the people they affect, but government must also have the capacity to act, spend taxpayers’ money carefully and follow through on its commitments.

Ireland at the Heart of Europe

Ireland’s place is at the heart of Europe. We are stronger when we work with our European partners, learn from one another and make our contribution to the shared European project.
